Dr. Sangeetha Rajan
Co-Founder
A powerhouse of talent, skills and experience, Sangeetha combines her expertise as a qualified psychologist, a people development professional and an Indian classical dancer to bring rich, multi-disciplinary insights into TAQ. She holds a Masters in Psychology, an LLB, a PGD in PM&IR from XLRI and a PhD from TISS.Her experience in people development began with roles at Maruti and ICICI Bank and spans nearly two decades in learning and psychometrics.
She is certified to use Hogan Assessments, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and SHL’s OPQ and ability tests. Sangeetha is the recipient of the Shringar Mani title for excellence in Odissi dance, was nominated to the International Council for Dance (CID-UNESCO) in 2013, was nominated for Best Choreography at the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards 2018, and is leading a new generation of dancers at the Urban Temple Dance Repertory. She strongly believes that the arts are a celebration of the best that is humanly possible. Along with co-founder Swati Apte, she draws on principles, practices, skills and perspectives from the arts to create transformative art-based learning experiences at TAQ.

Swati Apte
Co-Founder
Swati Apte is the multi-talented livewire who is an equal expert in all her pursuits. A business strategy specialist with a passion for the arts, her background includes a Masters in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a former position as a McKinsey and Co. business consultant. This is juxtaposed by her years of training as a professional Odissi dancer and her active work in the NGO sector.
Swati is also the co-founder of India School-House Fund and senior adviser to Educate Girls and World Monuments Fund. She is part of the Core Team as well as Faculty of SMART (Strategic Management in Art of Theatre), India’s first and only capacity building programme for theatre groups. At TAQ, along with co-founder Dr. Sangeetha Rajan, Swati harnesses arts practices to strengthen communication, visioning and presence in the leadership of the companies/NGOs they work with. Swati is certified to use Hogan Assessments and has completed the Team Up Triad coaching programme run by the Asian Leadership Institute. She strongly believes that a combination of arts practices, organizational insights and practical experience ensures that TAQ’s programmes have a deep impact and sustained behavioural results.

Savita Kotian

Savita Kotian
With around 10 years of experience in office administration and back office operations, Savita Kotian is the perfect person to ensure TAQ runs smoothly and seamlessly. She is a graduate of economics from Bombay University and has varied experience working with IT companies such as Iflex (now referred as Oracle) and Cranfield University, UK. With her years of expertise and always-efficient approach to life, she handles the general administration of TAQ, making sure process behind the organization’s work runs like clockwork.

Rohit assists the TAQ staff in the day-to-day functioning of the office. With his keen eye for photography and ever-enthusiastic demeanour, Rohit looks after all the little details that make sure every TAQ experience is an unforgettable one.

Anahita Uberoi
Actor, Director and Facilitator
Anahita Uberoi
An actor director and producer who has worked extensively in New York, Mumbai and Germany. She has appeared onstage in several successful plays such a 36 Ghante, Agnes of God, Class of 84 and her performances over the last two decades have been widely acclaimed. Anahita has been see in many films including Everybody Says I’m Fine, Kapoor and Sons, White Noise and the national award winning Afterglow. She has been conducting theatre workshops for children and adults over the last fifteen years. Recently, Anahita has directed an Indo-Scottish project called “The Class Act” that taught the art of scriptwriting to teenagers and was Festival Director for the Sanctuary Wildlife Photography Festival which brings together conservation and the arts.

Asif Ali Beg

Asif Ali Beg
Asif Ali Beg’s professional career as an entertainer began in 1982 as a singer on an international cruise liner. He started his own band Mantra and has regaled audiences with his performances all over India and abroad. He was awarded the Charles Wallace scholarship from the British Council in 2001 to study acting in the UK. He graduated from the East 15 Acting School, University of Essex in July 2002. Today, he is lauded as one of the finest actors with stalwart performances in Othello, Jesus Christ Superstar and Loretta. Asif is also a voice artist and has lent his voice to many memorable characters including Winnie the Pooh, Olaf (from Frozen), and Sid (from Ice Age 3/4/5). He received the AVA Award for dubbing for Edna Mode (of the Incredibles). Asif regularly conducts workshops in voice culture and voice modulation, and has been part of the faculty at the Drama School Mumbai and Whistling Woods Film School.

Devika Punjabi

Devika Punjabi
With over two decades of experience and many memorable performances to her name, Devika Punjabi is well-known as an actor as well as a breath and voice coach. She started her theatre career in 1992 and has worked with many leading directors like Pearl Padamsee, Vickram Kapadia, Rahul DaCunha and others, starring in several plays such as SOS (1994), Romeo and Juliet (1995), Crab (2007). She is trained in Latin ballroom dancing and has several TV shows (Rishtey, Gubbarein, Kumkum) and film appearances (Inteqam, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) to her credit as well. Her currently running productions include Twelve Angry Jurors, Wildtrack and Class of ’84 – Mumbai’s longest running play.

Pradeep Vaiddya

Pradeep Vaiddya
Pradeep Vaidyya is an all-round theatre-person with over twenty years’ experience as a writer, director, music composer, singer, light designer and theatre manager. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards including the META award for Best Light Design, Bhalba Kelkar Puraskar, Zee Gaurav, and Tanveer Natyadharmi Puraskar. He is a graduate of the SMART programme in theatre management, an India Theatre Forum project. His organization Expression Lab has been active in Pune’s arts eco-system for the past 7 years, enabling and empowering new artists and catalysing new streams of theatre ethos.

Rupali Bhave

Rupali Bhave
An voice actor, translator and storyteller, Rupali has been active in the experimental theatre world for about 25 years. As a facilitator, she has conducted workshops for theatre organizations, schools, colleges and in the corporate world. She has written a children's book "Lights...Camera...Action ! - The life and times of Dadasaheb Phalke" which has been published by Pratham Books. She is the founder of Jacaranda - a theatre organisation for children. Through Jacaranda she conducts a three-year Certificate Course in Theatre in collaboration with a school in Pune. Through Jacaranda she also stages productions based on content that children desire to address by enabling the children to create and perform the theatrical pieces. Rupali has a post-graduate degree in management studies, has formally studied French and is also proficient in English, Hindi and Marathi.

Shruti Mishra
Movement Coach and Actor
Shruti Mishra
A physical theatre actor, Wutao artist, dancer, choreographer and movement coach, Shruti Mishra is the embodiment of various movement idioms. A graduate of the Physical Theatre Programme at the School for Theatre Creators, Chicago, she has also undergone intensive Wutao training at the Wutao School in Paris and completed a programme in Movement Based Theatre at Helikos International School for Theatre Creation at Florence. She has several successful performances to her credit, including a multicultural project against racism and non-violence in Germany, and Yatagarasu, a production directed by Yuki Ellias. She trains professional dancers at the Terence Lewis Dance Company and regularly conducts theatre, Wutao and mask-making workshops.
